Mode of admission


The admission to 85% of seats will be based on the Rank obtained in the All Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by Government of Kerala. Remaining 15% of seats are filled by the management, which is also based on the rank obtained in the Entrance Examination. (See the link ADMISSIONS for more)

Candidates for admission to the B.Tech. Degree course shall be required to have passed the higher secondary/+2/XII Std. examination conducted by boards/departments recognized/accepted by the University, obtaining not less than 50% marks in Mathematics and not less than 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together or the diploma examination in Engineering, Kerala or any examination accepted by the Government of Kerala as equivalent thereto with 50% marks in the final qualifying examination, subject to the usual concession allowed for backward and other communities as specified from time to time.

Engineering diploma holders are eligible for admissions to second year BTech based on the entrance test conducted by the State Government Technical Directorate.

First and Second semester- Common to all Branches


SESSIONAL EXAMINATIONS (Series Tests)

At least two sessional examinations will be conducted and at least two assignments will be given in a semester for each subject from which average of two tests will have 60% weightage and assignments and attendance will have 20% weightage each for a theory subject.

 

ABSENCE FROM SESSIONAL EXAMINATIONS (Series Tests)

When a student is absent from a Test Paper/Sessional Examination(Series Test) he/she will not be generally given another chance for the test missed by him/her.In cases where the student is constrained to be absent from a Test on genuine grounds, he/she should report the fact of the matter before the Test commences, to the concerned faculty or Group tutor or Head of the Department of the Test with evidence to prove the genuine reason for his/her absence; and if the Head of the Department is convinced that >absence from the Test and due to reasons beyond the control of the student, a substitute Test may be given.
