Computer Science & Engineering Department Facilities Laboratories
To keep in pace with the explosive development in computer networks and data communication a conceptual understanding of underlying facts is necessary. The Network Systems Lab provides a solid foundation for emerging professionals, providing a platform for behavioral study. This lab includes study of Inter Process Communication, Synchronization, Socket programming, TCP/IP, RMI, Internet programming using JAVA etc.
Familiarization with PC components and assembling and maintenance of computer system are the main areas covered in this lab. System level programming with C and MASM, Troubleshooting of LAN and PC, problem identification and recovery in networks, use of network diagnostic software etc. are also incorporated in this lab.
A good programmer should know the design principles of Operating System and compilers. Redhat Linux Enterprise Eedition (2.6) is used in the lab for this purpose. The experiments include process handling, IPC, concurrency control, process scheduling, deadlock handling and implementation of different phases of compiler and assembler. Compiler writing tools like LEX, YACC etc are used in this lab.
Microprocessor Lab: This lab aims in providing the basic concepts of Microprocessors. Programming with 8085 and 8086, interfacing experiments such as two way traffic controller systems, elevator controller, Stepper motor etc. are handled in this lab.
Programming Lab: This lab provides fundamental knowledge on various platforms such as DOS, Windows, LINUX, and UNIX. Exposure to problem solving and programming methodologies are provided. Familiarization with common applications are also included in this lab.
Database Lab: To strive in the era of information technology basic knowledge about database is very
