The department officially inaugurated the class commencement and launched a three-day Induction Programme for the incoming MCA 2026–2028 batch on August 31, 2026, at the MCA Seminar Hall. The event was formally inaugurated by Mr. Johney Varghese, Vice President of the Services Division at Kalkitech. Following the inaugural ceremony, the department kicked off a comprehensive three-day Induction Programme scheduled from August 31 to September 2, 2026. The program is designed to orient incoming students through interactive modules covering:
* Motivation & Success: Personal development and mindset strategies.
* Industry Expert Talk: Insights into modern tech trends and corporate expectations.
* Academic Orientation: Familiarization with curriculum structure and campus standards.
* Technical Orientation: Technical tools, platforms, and practical skill pathways.
The Department of Computer Applications in collaboration with Ernest & Young, Viswasanthi Foundation and the Training and Placement Cell, MACE, organized a two-day hands-on workshop titled “Internet of Things: From Concept to Creation” on August 6 and 10, 2026, at the MCA Computer Lab.
The Department of Computer Applications recently concluded a five-day workshop titled 'Cloud Computing - Basics to Virtual Machines' for its third semester students of the 2024-26 batch. A total of 57 students participated in the comprehensive program, which ran from August 28 to August 31, 2025, following an inaugural session on August 23. The workshop was designed to provide students with practical experience in the essential concepts of cloud technology.
The department celebrated the beginning of a new academic journey for its 2025-27 batch with a class commencement programme. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Rajeev Srinivas, Head of the Academic Alliances Group at TCS.
