Faculty Achievements

Congratulations to Dr. Anila P. V., Assistant Professor, on being honored with the Dr. Venkata Kishore Kothapudi Best Paper Award for her paper titled “Microstrip Transmission Line Based Gaussian Pulse Generator with Low Ringing for UWB Radar,” for the 5th Wireless, Antenna & Microwave Symposium (WAMS 2026). The accolade carries a cash prize of ₹10,000, along with a plaque and certificate. This significant accomplishment highlights her commitment to research excellence and brings immense pride to the MACE community.

Warm congratulations to Dr. Jinsa Kuruvilla for her exemplary guidance and support as supervisor, leading to the successful completion of Dr. Ancy Joy’s Ph.D. Her mentorship was instrumental in the research on “Modelling and Simulation of SRAM and RRAM Memory Architecture for Energy-Efficient Applications,” which was awarded on 18th March 2026, marking a significant academic milestone.

Warm congratulations to Dr. Mathew K. for his dedicated guidance and supervision, which led to the successful completion of Dr. Geethu Chacko’s Ph.D. His mentorship played a key role in the research on “Switching Frequency Limited Hysteresis-Based Control of Voltage Source Inverters,” which was successfully completed on 26th November 2025.

Hearty congratulations to Dr. Anila P. V. on being awarded the INSA Visiting Scientist Award 2025 by the Indian National Science Academy. As part of this recognition, she willl undertake a fully funded one-month research visit at Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad—a well-deserved opportunity that reflects her dedication to research and academic excellence.

Heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Sarin Abraham on successfully defending her thesis titled “Biomedical Microdevices for Periodontal Regeneration” at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, in the field of Bio-MEMS/NEMS and biomaterials.

Heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Nithin James and Dr. Mathew K on receiving a research grant of ₹43.92 lakhs from the Naval Research Board (NRB), Ministry of Defence, for their project focused on developing physical layer technologies for communication between underwater acoustic modems and designing innovative signal processing methods for underwater communication.

(Project Supervisor) and team members Anagha B., Aswathi K., Johnson Paul, and Alvin Sabu for receiving financial assistance of ₹33,000 from the Centre for Engineering and Research Development (CERD) for their project titled "Sensor-Based Landslide Detection and Warning System Using LoRaWAN Technology."

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering proudly congratulates the winners of the Project Competition organized by the Electronics Association. The event highlighted innovative ideas and technical excellence from students across different batches. The First Prize was awarded to the project Quadruped Robotic Dog, developed by Abhinav Krishna, Achinth P M, Annu Johns, and Sapnil M. The Second Prize was secured by the project High Precision Infusion Syringe Pump with Microliter-Scale Flow Control, developed by Jisna Saju, Aleena A L, Sangeeth K Sadanandan, and Rithul K Raji. The Third Prize was awarded to the project Dual-Axis Solar Panel Using LDR, developed by Faraha Thariq, Jothika Rajeev, Kevin Paul, and Farzan Pareed. The competition provided a vibrant platform for students to demonstrate their technical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. It also encouraged peer learning and inspired junior students to engage in innovative project development.

Hearty congratulations to Abhinav Krishna N (ECE 2022 batch) and Amritha M (EEE 2022 batch) to have received the Jury’s Special Mention for the Amarnath Raja Technology Award 2025 at the IEEE Kerala Section Awards.They were recognized for their project, “Eletect: Mitigating Human–Elephant Conflicts using TinyML,” which reflects both strong technical innovation and a meaningful approach to solving real-world challenges.
