As part of its industry–academia engagement initiatives, the Department organised an industrial visit to Xalten Systems to provide the staff with firsthand exposure to contemporary industrial practices, advanced technologies, and engineering workflows. The Electronics Association was formally inaugurated on 23rd March 2026 by Dr. A. Unnikrishnan, Retired Director of the Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory (NPOL), marking the launch of a technically driven platform dedicated to promoting innovation, research, and knowledge sharing in electronics and communication related fields. The inauguration was followed by an insightful technical talk in the communication domain delivered by Dr. A. Unnikrishnan.

Five-Day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Smart Electronics & AI-Based Design Approach”

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Mar Athanasius College of Engineering successfully conducted a Five-Day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Smart Electronics & AI-Based Design Approach” from 06th to 10th January 2026. The programme covered key areas such as modern AI systems, AI-driven applications in electronics and communication, and Edge AI, providing participants with both conceptual understanding and practical insights into emerging technologies. The FDP witnessed active participation from faculty members, research scholars, M.Tech students, and technical staff, making it a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and skill enhancement in advanced electronics and AI domains.

Technical session on “Modeling and Simulation of Digital Communication Systems using MATLAB–Simulink” for the third year students

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering successfully conducted a technical session on “Modeling and Simulation of Digital Communication Systems using MATLAB–Simulink” for the third year students. The session was delivered by Mr. Dhanoop K. Dhanpal from CoreEL Technologies India Pvt. Ltd., who provided practical insights into system-level modeling, signal processing workflows, and simulation of digital communication blocks using MATLAB–Simulink. Students gained hands-on exposure to designing and analyzing communication systems through simulation-driven approaches.

Arduino Workshop for School Students

The department successfully conducted an Arduino workshop for school students on 15th November 2025. The session was led by Prof. Sneha Mariyam Jacob, Prof. Parvathy Harikumar, Mr. Alen Alex Jose, and Mr. Joseph Renjith G Chelad, who introduced participants to the fundamentals of Arduino, embedded systems, and hands-on circuit design.
