The newly established Robotics and Automation Lab under the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Mar Athanasius College of Engineering was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Suresh Sundaram of the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru.

Student Induction Programme 2026 will be inaugurated on Monday, 10 August 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Baselios Paulose Indoor Stadium, marking the beginning of the academic journey for the new batch of engineering students. The programme is designed to familiarize students with campus life, academic opportunities, and the institution's culture of innovation and excellence. The inaugural ceremony will feature Mr. Sooraj Ben K. R., IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, Kothamangalam Forest Division, as the Chief Guest, with Mr. Arun Narayan Thekkethil, Centre Head, Tata Consultancy Services, Kochi, delivering the keynote address. Distinguished alumni Mr. Rajeev K. R., Director (Distribution), Kerala State Electricity Board, and Mr. Feroz Rehman, Chief Executive Officer, Transight Systems Pvt. Ltd., will also address the gathering and share insights from their professional journeys to inspire the incoming students.
The Robotics & Automation Laboratory will be inaugurated by Prof. Suresh Sundaram, Chair of the Cyber Physical Systems Department and Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. This initiative marks a significant step towards strengthening hands-on learning, research, and innovation in robotics and automation.
