Internet of Things (IoT) LAB

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of interconnected computing devices, mechanical and digital systems, and smart objects that can collect and exchange data without requiring direct human interaction. By integrating embedded system devices with existing network infrastructure, IoT enables seamless automation and connectivity.

The MACE IoT Laboratory was established with the vision of fostering long-term, sustainable development in IoT-enabled applications and services. Set up in collaboration with IEDC MACE and the Kerala Startup Mission, the lab was inaugurated in March 2017 and provides all the essential components for IoT development. The lab houses all the components needed to start the development of IoT-based systems. It includes microcontroller boards like Arduino and Raspberry Pi, Wi-Fi modules, sensors, actuators, and other necessary tools for building IoT-based systems. IoT Lab helps the students to thoroughly understand the concepts of IoT and enables them to try out their own ideas.

A student community called MACE IoT Club is closely associated with the lab, fostering innovation and hands-on learning in IoT. Since its inception, the club has actively organized a variety of events, including IoT workshops, project exhibitions, maker summits, and competitions, providing students with valuable opportunities to explore, experiment, and develop practical IoT solutions.
