National Service Scheme (NSS)

The college operates four NSS units (Nos. 117, 118, 577 and 578) under the APJAKTU NSS Cell. The NSS units at MACE aim to shape a generation of efficient and dedicated Social Engineers. It is one of the most active units within the NSS Cell of APJAKTU. NSS-MACE has received several prestigious awards, including the IMA-GCDA award and Rudhirasena Award for maximum blood donations, the Jeevadhayani award for creating an online blood donor directory, and numerous other recognitions.

The NSS program has led to a significant positive shift in students’ attitudes through its focused training process, helping them adopt important principles and philosophies for personal growth and maturity. One of the volunteering activities we participated in last year was “Punarjani,” which involved tasks such as making hospital beds and providing other essential services. By offering support to healthcare facilities, we learned the importance of small acts in making a big difference in the well-being of others.

Events such as the cultural and sports meets for the blind, along with the Punarjani initiative, have provided volunteers with opportunities to interact with the general public and differently-abled individuals, instilling lessons of love and compassion. Projects like Punarjani and Home for Homeless have saved significant amounts of money for the government, while initiatives like Ojas have contributed to improved energy efficiency on campus and enhanced the technical knowledge of students.

In addition to the above initiatives, NSS MACE has also conducted variety of impactful initiatives which  included organizing and attending cancer awareness camps, hosting blood donation drives, and contributing to community welfare through activities like library cleaning and the renovation of both hospitals and schools. In addition, they dedicated time for teaching school children, helping them with their academic needs, and actively engaged in an anti-narcotics campaign to raise awareness about the dangers of substance abuse. Each of these activities not only benefitted the local community but also helped the volunteers develop valuable skills in teamwork, leadership, and social responsibility.
