Sixth edition of the globally awarded hackathon, “>.hack();”
The sixth edition of the globally awarded hackathon, “>.hack();_”, sponsored by the Youth Wing of the the World Malayalee Council was inaugurated on Friday 22nd August 2025. The three-day event, themed Kerala Reimagined, brings together students, professionals, and innovators to develop solutions to real-world challenges.
The inaugural ceremony was officially opened by Mr. Shanavas Bavu, Director of Innopolis Bio Innovations Private Limited, who lit the ceremonial lamp alongside other dignitaries. In his address, the chief guest emphasized the significance of hackathons as platforms for creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving in today’s technology-driven era.
Dr. Bos Mathew Jos, Principal of MACE, graced the occasion and encouraged participants to make the most of the opportunity, highlighting how such initiatives equip students with skills beyond the classroom. Prof. Neethu Salim, Branch Counselor, welcomed the participants and shared the vision behind the hackathon, noting that this year’s edition has attracted teams from across the country.
The event leads, Nandana Jolly and Neha Savy, were also recognized for their efforts in organizing and coordinating the hackathon, ensuring a platform where innovation and teamwork can thrive. The inaugural program additionally featured an introduction to the problem statements that participants will be working on throughout the event.
Over the course of three days, the teams worked round the clock to develop prototypes and pitch their solutions to a panel of judges. The event not only showcased technical expertise but also fostered teamwork, creativity, and entrepreneurial thinking among students.
