Overview

Mathematics is the very foundation of engineering and several other field of study. It is an important tool which provides different techniques and methods to solve problems in engineering. As engineering progresses and develops, mathematics forms a common foundation for new disciplines. Most of the important engineering problems can be expressed in simple mathematical forms. The course aims to provide the students with the analytical and quantitative reasoning ability to apply advanced mathematical and computational techniques to understand and tackle various real life problems and technological challenges. The department of mathematics has qualified and dedicated faculty who train and equip the students to meet these challenges. Four important topics under engineering mathematics are included in the curriculum as different subjects, each in the first four semesters of all branches of undergraduate engineering course. They are, Calculus in the first semester, differential equations in the second, linear algebra & complex analysis in the third and probability distributions, transforms and numerical methods in the fourth semester.
