The Electrical and Electronics Engineering department of Mar Athanasius College of Engineering has a proud history of over 50 years. Since its initiation, the department has set a standard of excellence through its academic and co-curricular activities. We have well-qualified, meritorious, committed, and experienced faculty members and are equipped with excellent infrastructure. The department offers B.Tech programme in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and an M.Tech Programme in Power Electronics. The curriculum provides a flexible credit-based structure and continuous student evaluation to maximize learning and assimilation of fundamental concepts meeting the changing needs of the industry. The department has a digital library that provides access to students to all the IEEE journals, Science Direct, Springer, ASME, etc. With its various student activities and association, the department has taken the responsibility and commitment to find and facilitate the students' innate potential and creative talents. The overall development of the students is made possible through various co-curricular, extracurricular, social, and community development activities. The student association organizes campus, state, and national technical workshops, symposiums, paper presentations, and quizzes. We ensure that the students get exposure to advancements in engineering and stay updated with the latest trends by conducting International and National Conferences. The students of the department have been achieving academic success since its formative years through ranks in university examinations and competitive examinations. The department also boasts an impressive record of placement through the years. The quality of the alumni has prompted the past recruiters to vie with each other for early slots of recruitment. We try to uphold the basic value of education, which turns a student into a committed citizen of the country and the world. The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, established in the year 1961, is committed to ensuring excellence in teaching and is a much sought-after department in Kerala. The department has a team of well-qualified veteran teachers and technical staff who constantly strive to impart quality technical education in undergraduate and post-graduate programmes. The department has state-of-the-art laboratories, equipment, and modern software tools to enable the student to be competent enough to meet the global challenges.

The department offers an undergraduate programme in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and a post-graduate programme in Power Electronics. Currently, more than 550 students pursue their courses in the department. Students of the department have been encouraged to actively participate in various professional activities to enhance their professional and creative skills in various fields. The department organizes international conferences, National conferences, national and state-level workshops, seminars, and guest lectures apart from academic activities. Students are strongly motivated and trained toward a successful career, imparting strong moral and ethical foundations. Special attention is being given to training students in the core industries to promote closer interaction in these areas and improve their employability.
